HOT TODDY RECIPE:
5 EASY STEPS
Hot toddy is a name given to a hot/warm drink that is believed to have originated in Scotland. Hot toddies are usually drunk before going to bed, or in wet and cold weather. They are believed to ease the effects of a cold or flu by helping to loosen congestion and clear a stuffy head. To make a hot toddy, you will need the following.
Hot Toddy Ingredients:
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tea bag
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/4 lemon
- 1 shot (approximately 2 oz.) bourbon, whiskey, rum or brandy
Step 1
Place a tea bag into a mug of boiling hot water and steep for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add the honey and juice of the lemon to the tea.
Step 3
Add 1 shot of bourbon, whiskey, rum or brandy.
Step 4
Stir thoroughly.
Step 5
Breathe in the steam from the hot toddy as you drink.
HOT TODDY TIP:
Try adding cloves and cinnamon to enhance the flavour.
