
DIET SHAKE: BANANA RASPBERRY SMOOTHIE RECIPE
It's fun to make diet shakes and adding something you enjoy to your diet can make it whole lot easier to get through a tough diet. By using fresh foods in your shakes, you not only are saving money but getting the most food value from the drink. (see recipe below)
Making your shakes from fresh ingredients guarantees that you get nothing but the best in terms of vitamins and nutrition. Pre-made shakes, even though they say "diet" on the can often have too much sugar and other unhealthy ingredients in them to do you any good.
All you need to make a smoothie is one piece of equipment - a blender, then it is really just a matter of combining the right base (there are three types of bases of any good diet shake and they are dairy, vegetable or fruit based shakes) with the right ingredient to make shakes that will be healthy and help you reach your diet goals while tasting good too.
What is great about making your own fruit diet shakes is that you can get that taste of something sweet and still stay on your program. A smoothie is a great way to start your day or even to have a light desert at night that isn't going to make you fat.
Below is my favourite shake - the Banana Raspberry Smoothie - give it a try!
Banana Raspberry Smoothie Ingredients
- 1 Cup pineapple juice
- 1 Cup raspberries
- 1 Cup vanilla yogurt
- 2 Ripe medium bananas
Step 1
In blender, combine pineapple juice, yogurt, raspberries and peeled bananas
Step 2
Blend until smooth
Step 3
Serve immediately
Quick tip
For variety, substitute raspberries with any other frozen fruit
