How to make a Harvey Wallbanger


HARVEY WALLBANGER COCKTAIL RECIPE
The Harvey Wallbanger is pretty much a Screwdriver with a Galliano float. Created in the 1960’s the Harvey Wallbanger is said to take its name and recipe from a Californian surfer called ‘Harvey’. He would enjoy his Screwdrivers with a top up of Galliano. After drinking a substantial amount of these Galliano charged Screwdrivers he would wander out of the bar, walking into furniture and bumping into walls. He was nicknamed the Wallbanger and his special drink took his name.

Another popular theory is that drinks using Galliano are so called because the only place the tall Galliano bottle fits on a bar is up agains the wall…

Harvey Wallbanger Ingredients
- 45ml (1 1/2 oz) Smirnoff Vodka
- 15ml (1/2 oz) Galliano
- Orange Juice

Step 1
Pour the vodka over ice in a highball glass
Step 2
Fill the glass with orange juice almost to the top
Step 3
Use a bar spoon to float the Galliano on top
Step 4
Garnish with an orange slice
